a. This article pertains to an application on the iphone that helps autistic or physically handicapped people communicate with other people. They are able to use this app by getting an iphone and buying the application. Then they would open the app and use it in the way most comofortable to them. The reason this technology was developed was so that kids who could not voice themselves are able to by using their phones. This technology is being developed and is being tested in Amarillo Texas. This application is being tested as I write this blog and it has been proving very good and a lot less costly then the computer version. (10,000 dollars compared to the app which is 200)
B. What i can conclude from this article is that technology is quickly advancing. Also, that the iPhone is becoming more and more useful in society. The autistic citizens will be able to voice their once silence voice.
C. In my opinion apple should have done this earlier when the iphone first came out. I think that, however, that it is great that it is coming out now. Also its a great thing because the technology of today permits the portability of expensive software that would usually require computers and expensive gear.

  1. This is a really interesting article, though I can't stop wondering what specific applications are being developed. Is it a voice-to-word translator? Or a keypad with braille? Anyway, it is good to hear that technology is no longer only for the majority of healthy peope, but also the disabled. This create a win-win situation to get the company more customers and satisfy the needs of the minority.

  2. This is a very brilliant idea in my opinion because it is great that cheaper options are being found for handicapped people to communicate with others. Also, it is very convenient for people to have this type of program on a phone, as it is smaller and always available.

  3. This is a great idea, handicapped and autistic people formerly had few very expensive options. However, with the iPhone being used to allow handicapped and autistic people communicate, they now have a much more cost efficient and overall better method of communicating.

  4. I am glad that technology is advancing in such a way to benefit those with disabilities. It's actually pretty exciting to see these advancements help the disabled to be as normal as they can be, communicating with phones and maybe later, many more advantages.

  6. It's really good to see technology being advanced for more reason than just to make more money. By changing their audience a bit it will not only benefit those who are handicapped and are getting cheaper forms of communication, but the people who invented it will also benefit.

  7. This article was very interesting because I had no idea that iPhones could help people so much. I knew they had lot's of interesting applications, but I didn't know that they were so advanced as to helping disabled people.

  8. I think it is a really great idea to help handicapped people with new technologies. Still, I am not sure if I agree with selling the app instead of already integrating it in the phone. I mean it sounds more like a business idea to me than having the wish to help.
