Being over weight or obese can take a couple years off your life, even if you don't have any disease like heart
disease or cancer. It might seem obvious that being over weight can pose many health risks and can cause an earlier death. Some new studies have suggested that being overweight has no effect on mortality, and may reduce the risk of dying at an early age. A total of 160,087 people died during the studies, which lasted about 10 years. Underweight people are also at a greater risk of dying compared with normal weight people. However, Some researchers say this is due to preexisting but undetected illnesses in very thin people.
Conclusion:
The study along with others should help quiet the theory that being overweight or obese doesn't pose an increased risk of early death.
This is interesting. That there is a really fine line between being over wieght and normal weight, and being under weight and normal weight. It seem that its not just the fact of being to heavy or to thin. Its the illnesses that you are more able to get when you are too heavy or too thin.
ReplyDeleteBeing overweight could be part of the problem, but I think that the real cause of early death in overweight people has to do with what they eat. How did they get to the point of obesity.
